Andrew
Stewart is expanding his Raydon based shiatsu practice to include a weekly
clinic at the Constable Country Medical Practice in East
Bergholt. Andrew is pleased to have the opportunity to bring
shiatsu to a more mainstream setting and anticipates that the clinics will be
popular. Over the last few years shiatsu has steadily gained prominence, and
Andrew is delighted to be part of that success.
He says "Shiatsu is an increasingly popular
and powerful complementary Using the same system of points and meridians as acupuncture, shiatsu practitioners apply pressure rather than use needles to assist the body to achieve balance and resist and recover from disease, trauma, and the stresses of modern life. Andrew says "From time to time we all develop imbalances in our natural equilibrium whether due to illness, trauma, injury, lifestyle or environmental factors. These can manifest as aches and pains, sleeping disorders, lack of energy, and many other symptoms." Like acupuncture, shiatsu works with chi, the basic energy that underlies all the body's movement and functions. Using pressure and manipulation, shiatsu practitioners encourage efficient qi flow, thus restoring balance. Because it is holistic in its approach, shiatsu treats the whole body system, not just the symptom. It can have a beneficial effect on many conditions and is really versatile. Most commonly it is used to help back and shoulder problems, depression and stress, but it will also effectively treat emotional problems, menstrual, digestive and sleeping disorders and much more besides. A graduate of the British School of Shiatsu, Andrew is a member of the Shiatsu Society and the Dedham Vale Network of complementary practitioners. Enquiries and appointments for either clinic can be made on 01473 652093. Further information can be found at www.shiatsu.org and www.dedhamvalenetwork.com. |
