Are you one of the many people who have tried just about every diet going, but are still not satisfied with your weight and self esteem? Or maybe you are that person who feels that you could be that little bit more trim, but does not fancy the stress of taking up or sticking to a diet? Or perhaps you are just looking for a more natural way to lose weight rather than denying yourself all the goodies that you fancy day to day. If the answer to any of the above is yes, then have you ever considered Hugh explains “People can get fed up with the constant battle of trying to lose weight through diets. And even when they do lose weight they invariably put it back on again. Using hypnosis, the course does not emphasise losing anything. Instead, it strives to help participants to move towards becoming fitter, slimmer, healthier, happier, more contented people. We do not expect people to consciously change their life style at all. The aim is for the changes to take place at the subconscious level.” Liz adds “Most of the driving power behind problems of overeating comes from our subconscious minds - the root of all our habits, emotions, imagination, and memory. Diets tend to rely on our more rational, but considerably weaker, conscious minds. More often than not, therefore, conscious efforts are doomed to failure, the emotional power of the subconscious coming out the winner in the end as the dieter relapses into eating inappropriately again through some trigger, such as stress, in their lives.” The course, which puts a strong emphasis also on building up self-esteem, allows participants to learn to access their subconscious minds so that they can deal with the problem of being overweight at its root. So, what is hypnosis? Hugh says ”Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state that we go in and out of everyday all the time. Driving, daydreaming, and being absorbed in a book or film are just some of the many forms of hypnosis.” So, what does it feel like? Liz explains “It is quite simply a pleasant feeling of relaxation. You are fully aware of what is going on all the time. You can hold a perfectly normal conversation while in hypnosis. Most importantly, you will never say or do anything you do not want to.” Feed back from previous courses held by Hugh and Liz has been very positive as the following comments illustrate. “I feel very positive about life generally as a result of starting to lose weight during the course.” “A friendly course – giving me positive and helpful thoughts. Not only did it make me aware of what I eat, but also taught me to make time to give “five minutes” to myself.” To find out more about the next courses please ring Hugh on Colchester 01206 323089 (email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or Liz on 01206 299724 (email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) Hypnotherapy can also help with a wide range of other emotional, psychological or physical problems.
