I have 8+ years experience in my own Private counselling practice, working in the Colchester (and Ipswich) areas. I work with GP practices for the NHS offering time limited and long term counselling to patients referred by the GPs. I also work with some EAP (Employee Assistant Programme) providers offering counselling to employess covered by these providers.

My Private Practice is usually based at the Crouch Street Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy in Colchester.

I have experience of working with clients aged between 14-90, working with a wide range of presenting issues including depression and relationship issues (I have 6+ years experince as a couple counsellor). Specific issues have included Post traumatic stress, sexual and physical abuse, family conflict and breakdown, anger management and adoption*

I am a fully trained, qualified and experienced Humanistic Person Centred Therapeutic Counsellor. I am accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold my own Professional Indemnity Insurance. My counselling qualifications include:

  • Diplomas in Humanistic Therapeutic Counselling and Professional Studies
  • Certificates in Supervision of Counselling and Person Centred Art Therapy Skills.
  • Further Professional development in Couple Counselling and Time Limited Counselling
  • Registered Adoption Counsellor with LINK

My background is in training and development within commercial business. I hold an MA in Manpower studies and am a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD). My 20+ years of experience in this profession helps inform my counselling work but I also occasionally work as a consultant to companies helping in personal and professional development issues.
