Neil Foster was raised locally in Wivenhoe and educated at Philip Morant Comprehensive School in Colchester.  Upon leaving school Neil became a professional cricketer with Essex in 1980.  In a career spanning 14 seasons Neil went on to represent England in 29 test matches and 48 one-day international matches. Neil gained his degree in Physiotherapy from University of Hertfordshire and graduated in 2003.

Neil has a clinic in Clacton-on-Sea along with his clinic in the Dedham Vale at East Bergholt.

Neil also works part-time for Essex County Cricket Club where he is responsible for the second eleven in the summer months.

Neil is married with 3 children and a dog (Bella)

Q What conditions can be treated at Foster Physiotherapy?
  • SPINAL PROBLEMS – including prolapsed discs, degeneration, sciatica, lumbago, stiff/painful neck and referred arm and leg pains.
  • JOINT PROBLEMS – arthritis, injury, pain / swelling / stiffness in joints such as shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.
  • INJURIES - to muscles, ligaments, cartilage and tendon and to work related conditions such repetitive strain injury (RSI).
  • AFTER SURGERY – rehabilitation after orthopaedic surgery such as hip or knee replacements or after general surgery.
  • FRACTURES – treatment to increase the rate of healing and to enable the return of full function once the bones have healed.
  • SPORTS INJURIES  strains, sprains and bruising to soft tissue.
